Larry Mayberry

Queens Church

School: William CUllen Bryant High

My wife Lindsay and I live in Queens with our four children. We have been planting churches here for nine years and are excited about what God is doing through the ministry of Queens Church currently.

Because of the density and diversity of the population and extreme lack of English-speaking gospel-centered churches, Western Queens is where we have invested our lives with the mission of seeing a church within easy walking distance of every New Yorker.

In the first six years of our church planting experience we saw 12 people saved and baptized, and just the last 6 months we have seen that same number baptized at Queen's Church! God is moving in a mighty way in our neighborhood and lives are being transformed by the gospel.

Tim Nussbaumer

Point COmmunity Church

School: Pine Grove Manor Elementary

Pastor Tim moved with his family from the Atlanta area in 2005 to help plant churches with the North American Mission Board around the metro New York City area.  The first church started was in New Brunswick, NJ (Rutgers University) in January of 2005.  Since then, Tim and his team have started 3 additional churches, with a fourth in the works currently.  Tim has a passion for reaching and raising up local leaders to start a movement of new churches in New Jersey and the northeast.  His currently serves as the lead pastor of Point Community Church of Somerset, which is a 5 year old church.  Tim and his wife, Robin, have been married for 23 years and have 2 children, Ian (18), and Emma (12).  Tim loves following his favorite teams in both college football and international soccer.  He also considers himself a theology nerd, with a slightly unhealthy addiction to travel.

Danny Torres

Swerve Church

SCHOOL: Public School 299 Elementary

Danny is a Brooklyn native and is married to his wife Melissa of 14 years and have three children: Jr, Christian, and Melody.

In 2011, Danny felt the burden to plant a life-giving, gospel-centered church in his community. Since then, he and his family have been making strides towards making that a reality.

In March of 2016, Danny and his family set out to plant Swerve Church and launched weekly gatherings meeting within the historic building of Evergreen Baptist Church.

Currently Danny and his family live in the heart of Bushwick and continue to pursue the mission of God by leading people to become fully devoted followers of Christ in their neighborhood.
